Earning his fourth and final William M. Jennings Trophy during his time with Dallas in 1999 - a season that also witnessed the Stars and HOFer capture a Stanley Cup championship, Ed Belfour would spend five seasons in Texas which included a trio of appearances at the NHL All-Star Game. Hailing from his final season in “The Lone Star State” of 2001-02, up for grabs here is this “star studded” set of pads worn by “Eddie the Eagle”. Vaughn Velocity model pillows decorated in Dallas’ green, gold, white and black colourway and stars throughout, Belfour’s personal eagle logo along with “Belfour” has been embroidered into the outside of each pad. Exhibiting excellent game-use, puck marks as well as red paint transfers are seen over the front face of each pad as are numerous spots of leather fraying and a small rip/cut over the inside of the left leg protector. Additionally, some of the star graphics have come away or been torn off over time. With all the strapping and buckles intact and accounted for, the pads are joined within the lot by a stick used by Belfour with the Stars during the early-2000s. A Christian model with “Belfour” stamped to the upper shaft, his trademark eagle is present at the heel, with the original black tape on the blade and handle, and white over the knob. The original striping accent is also intact beneath the tape on the handle. Showing good game-use, numerous marks and abrasions are present throughout the paddle and shaft with puck marks over the blade tape observed as well. Still structurally sound with no cracks or breaks, both the stick and the previously mentioned pads hail from Belfour’s personal collection and are accompanied by his signed LOA.
