The rookie cards of three well-known coaches and five now Hall of Fame players have always contributed to the popularity of O-Pee-Chee’s 1974-75 issue, for the first time a big 396-card effort and found here in a fairly uniform EX condition range on average. Starting with the rookie class, coaches cards of both Don Cherry and Scotty Bowman are included, with the Bowman around the scope of VG to VG-EX with a corner crease at the top left while the Cherry is better off, coming in at VG-EX to EX with 80-20 centering and corner wear. For the rest of the rookie class, Borje Salming leads the way at EX to EX-MT and slight corner wear, while the cardboard of Steve Shutt is found in the vicinity of EX. Additionally, both Lanny McDonald and Bob Gainey's rookies are found to be in the range of VG-EX to EX condition (both are off-center and have corner wear) while Denis Potvin comes in around the neighbourhood of VG to VG-EX with corner wear and surface scratches. For the star cards, card #130 of Bobby Orr leads the way with an example that is in the scope of EX-MT to NM while Montreal Canadiens teammates Ken Dryden and Guy Lafleur, card's #155 and #232, are both around EX to EX-MT. Additionally, card's #72 of Marcel Dionne (off-center top-to-bottom) and #100 of Orr (light corner wear) are both viewed as being around EX condition. Lastly, card # 280 of Larry Robinson falls into the range of VG-EX to EX with a faded reverse to make note of while card #260 of Bobby Clarke is in the realm of VG to VG-EX with light surface and corner wear. With the set also containing three (3) other Orr leaders cards, just a few of the sets offerings sport noticeable creases with most of the stars consistent condition wise with the rest of the set. Additionally, all three checklist cards are unmarked (#54 is VG-EX to EX and completely off-center, #162 is EX to EX-MT with slight corner wear and #311 is around VG to VG-EX and is completely off-center with a corner crease as well) as are the team checklist cards though #322 is creased.
