A classic run of card sets featuring the men who helped write the seven-season history of the World Hockey Association is up for grabs here, led chronologically by a 66-card set from 1974-75 which is led numerically by “The Howes” card. Largely found to be in the condition ranges of EX-MT and EX-MT to NM throughout, key cards include 1-The Howes (EX to EX-MT - small print mark bottom left), 4-Nilsson RC (EX-MT to NM), 17-Hedberg RC (EX - small corner crease at bottom right), 30-Cheevers (EX to EX-MT - tiny print mark bottom right), 40-Mahovlich (EX-MT to NM), 50-Hull (EX-MT - tiny bottom right corner ding), 53-Checklist (EX-MT to NM - unmarked) and 64-Plante (EX-MT to NM). The toughest of the four sets, the ’75-76 (132-card) assembly once again is made up of EX-MT and EX-MT to NM offerings as well with cards 34-Plante (85-15 centering), 66-Howe AS, 100-Howe and 110-Mahovlich leading the way at the top end of the grading scale, found to be in the scope of EX-MT to NM while the rest of the keys include those of 65-Hull AS at EX-MT, 20-Cheevers (small top right corner ding and 60-40 centering) and 131-Checklist (unmarked) around the range of EX to EX-MT while finally, card #1 of Bobby Hull falls into the scope of VG-EX to EX due to corner wear and a light stain. For the ’76-77 offerings, once again a 132-card effort with most in EX-MT to NM condition, the key cards include the likes of 50-Howe (off-center top-to-bottom), 65-Hull AS, 72-Howe AS and 117-Checklist (unmarked) in the aforementioned EX-MT to NM range while cards of 100-Hull (slight wear too right border) and 111-Mahovlich (very light corner wear) are seen as being EX-MT examples. astly, the ’77-78’s, typically sharp with that being the case here, the smaller 66-card ensemble is led by the familiar names of the other sets including 1-Howe (EX-MT to NM), 50-Hull (EX-MT to NM) 58-Checklist (EX-MT to NM – unmarked) and 61-Mahovlich (EX-MT to NM) with the accompanying cardboard in the same EX-MT/NM range throughout.
