Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
A player who experienced a fabulous junior hockey career before making the jump to professional hockey, Rob Schremp would win a Memorial Cup in 2005 as a member of the London Knights and twice represent his country of the United States at both the 2005 and 2006 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships. Offered here, we present this Team USA jersey worn by Schremp at the 2006 edition of the WJHC. Made by Nike, a screened on “Swoosh” logo as well as size “58” and “Made in USA” designations are observed over the inner collar while an IIHF logo patch is found over the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Team USA crest that features embroidered details and a Nike logo over the right breast, the sleeves and verso have had Schremp’s number “17” heat pressed to them in white rubberized numerals while “Schremp” is spelt out in matching style rubberized heat pressed letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Worn for a trio of games throughout the tournament, the jersey shows light use through stick marks and a small unrepaired hole over the front while stick marks and board burns are present over both sleeves as well with light pilling on the interior. Void of a fight strap on the interior, a Nike Team Sports barcode is heat pressed inside the reverse hem alongside a MeiGray tag numbered “USA01814”. Void of a fight strap on the interior, the jersey was originally sold through NHL Auctions and has been photo-matched with Getty Image #56911466 (January 2nd, 2006 vs Czech Republic – Quarterfinals) to the crack in the number “7” on the left sleeve. A USA Hockey LOA will accompany the piece.
