One of the best players to come out of Sweden and play in the National Hockey League during the era of the 1990s and 2000s, Niklas Sundstrom would hear his name called 8th overall by the New York Rangers in 1993 and go on to play 315 of his 750 career NHL games in the bright lights of Manhattan. Hailing from the personal collection of Brian Skrudland, offered here is this Rangers jersey worn by Sundstrom in circa 1997-98. Made by Starter with Starter/Center Ice Authentic Collection and size "54-R" tagging affixed to the inner collar, the mesh construction garment has had both the Starter and NHL shield logos embroidered into the reverse hem. A classic tie-neck style jersey that is decorated with "Rangers" going diagonally down the front in drop-shadow red-over-white tackle twill letters, the sleeves and verso have had Sundstrom's number "24" sewn to them in match style with "Sundstrom" spelt out in matching style letters affixed directly to the jersey in an arch over the top of the back. Displaying good game-wear throughout, board burns are observed over both sleeves and both shoulders with a small unrepaired holes present as a result of them over the left elbow while a larger one decorates the right shoulder. Sporting additional signs of use via stick marks over the right collar bone area and lower front an LOA for the jersey signed by Skrudland will accompany the piece.
