Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
Helping the USC Trojans return to the winning pedigree that they were once known for, Carson Palmer would record a record of 28-17 during his playing career with the school, winning the Heisman Trophy in 2002, a year that saw him throw for 33 TD’s and 3942 total yards. The 1st overall pick of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, offered here is this USC Trojans jersey worn by Palmer circa 2000-01. Made by Nike and featuring both size “48” and “Length +6” tags affixed to the inner collar, the cardinal coloured jersey features Palmer’s commonly seen elastic sleeves with stretchy spandex material added to the sides. Of note, although Palmer usually cut the sleeves under the arms, photos from the period of time this jersey was worn do show him wearing an uncut jersey such as this. Decorated over the front and with Carson’s number “3” that has been screened on as well as a Nike swoosh logo sewn on over the left collar bone, sport gold and white accent stripes have been screened to the sleeves as well. Displaying with just very light use, typical of a quarterback’s jersey, Palmer has signed over the “3” on the front with a black ink signature that displays well despite light fading from age. Accompanied by a Heritage Auctions COA, a JSA Auction LOA from 2015 will also be included.
