Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction September 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/19/2023
Similar in design to the Four-in-Ones that were distributed in 1969 Topps football packs, H\hobbyists of a certain age will recall, at the sight of these eye-catching scarcities, separating the little mini cards, licking the backs and affixing them in the mini-card albums, with the inserts originally included in 1969-70 Series 2 packs. Offered here, we present this complete 18-card set of 1969-70 O-Pee-Chee hockey "4-in-1" mini cards that have all been graded by PSA with each displaying a high-grade mark of NM-MT 8 over its label. Featuring four (4) mini pictures per card that make up one full sized offering, some of the notable players featured include Tim Horton, Bernie Parent, Jean Ratelle, Henri Richard, Jean Beliveau, Ed Giacomin, Serge Savard, Gump Worsley, Bobby Hull, Yvan Cournoyer, Stan Mikita, Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito, Dave Keon, Gordie Howe, Frank Mahovlich, Jacques Plante and many others. All remaining in beautiful conditions that are worthy of their high-grade designations, the examples of Stapleton/Grant/Marshall/Ratelle and Lacroix/Wall/Savard/Crozier are both the highest ever graded by PSA and are both pop 16's respectively while most of the others are edged out by just one to three PSA MINT 9's. In what would currently rank as the 3rd finest set in the PSA set registry, the holders remain in good condition with some light scratches and scuffs being present while most show a light glue residue ring over the lower reverses. A neat assembly that doesn't come up often, don't miss out on these for your all-important vintage collection!
