The first goaltender to have 30 or more wins in a regular season for five different teams, Curtis Joseph retired with a career win total of 454 to go along with 51 shutouts and a career goals against average of 2.79. Hailing from the 2002-03 season, his first as a member of the Detroit Red Wings in which he posted a record of 34-19-6 in 61 games played, offered here is this pair of photo-matched pads worn by Joseph. Bauer Supreme model pillows decorated in the Red Wings red and white colourway, with “Bauer” and “Supreme” wordmark logos over the face of each, Joseph’s personal “Cujo” logo have been embroidered into the outside of each pad near the top. Displaying excellent game-use through countless puck marks throughout each piece, other wear and use patterns are observed via sweat staining and soiling, rubbing and red paint and dye transfers on the interior leg channel. Remaining in excellent condition with light fraying around the bottom edges of each pad, the boot strap of the left pad also shows fraying along with some wear/deterioration from use while a small cut to the leather on the inside of the left pad is also observed. With all the straps and buckles present and accounted for, all are intact and still fully functional. Regarding the aforementioned photo-matches, the pads are matched with Getty Image #53086883 (April 16th, 2003 vs Anaheim – WCQF Game 4) to numerous puck marks seen over the face of each pad. A true treasure from one of the best to ever tend the goal in the National Hockey League, a Red Wings “HockeyTown” COA will accompany the lot.
