Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/28/2023
Registering 1409 points in 1188 games played over the course of his 16-year NHL career that saw him suit up with four different franchises, most famously the Winnipeg Jets, who made him the 1st overall pick of the NHL Entry Draft in 1981, Dale Hawerchuk would enjoy a rookie season that saw him set the NHL record for most points by an 18 year old finishing with 103, and win the Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL's Rookie of the Year. Offered here, is this collection of two (2) Hawerchuk rookie cards from O-Pee-Chee's 1982-83 hockey release, including one (1) that has been signed plus a single copy of his 1985-86 O-Pee-Chee card. For the first rookie card, the nicer of the two (2) included specimens and luckily the one that has been signed, the cardboard displays in the range of G to VG condition with light creases being observed while the autograph, signed in blue ballpoint pen, displays well despite some light fading from age. The second RC, worse off than its signed counterpart, is in the scope of PR to FR shape due to multiple creases throughout. Lastly, the 1985-86 example, which has also been signed, done so in blue ballpoint pen that display well despite being on a darker background, the card is found to be in the range of G to VG condition for its effort and sports a light crease. A JSA Auction LOA will accompany the lot.
