Perhaps more known as the bench boss that led the Pittsburgh Penguins to Stanley Cup glory in 2009, Dan Bylsma would also play 429 games in the National Hockey League after being drafted 109th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in 1989. Offered here, is this Los Angeles Kings jersey worn by Bylsma during the 1999-2000 season. Made by CCM, size “56” and “Made in Canada” labels are affixed to the inner collar while both the CCM and NHL shield logos have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Kings team crest that features embroidered and textured details, the NHL2000 patch graces the right breast while matching alternate logo crests are found residing over each shoulder. Accented over the lower front with “Los Angeles” in individually applied silver twill letters, Bylsma’s number “42” has been sewn to the sleeves and verso in dual layer textured silver-over-purple tackle twill numerals while “Bylsma” is spelt out in single later silver twill letters across the top of the back. Exhibiting excellent game wear, numerous board burns and team repairs are present over both sleeves which also an unrepaired hole over each as well. Additionally, more board burns are observed over both shoulders (with one on the left resulting in another unrepaired hole) and the reverse hem line while pilling and a handwritten notation by Kings equipment manager Peter Millar reading “99/00 S2” in silver marker ink are found on the interior.
