Playing three (3) seasons with the Victoria Cougars of the WCHL/WHL between 1976 and 1979, Steve Amiss would stand between the pipes for a total of 125 games in which he would register a total of 57 wins. Helping guide the Cougars to West Division Finals appearances in both 1977-78 and 1978-79, offered here is this Victoria jersey donned by Amiss in either the 1976-77 or 1977-78 seasons. A polyester knit construction garment that is void of any labeling, the outline of a former tag that was sewn in is observed over the inner collar and the jersey measures out to roughly a size "48". Decorated over the front with a Cougars team crest that in layered tackle twill that features both embroidered and chain-stitched details throughout, Amiss' number "30" appears over the sleeves and verso in vinyl red-over-white numerals while "Amiss" is spelt out in single layer red twill letters across the affixed white twill nameplate. Exhibiting good game-wear in the form of team repairs over the lower front, reverse and both sleeves, other battle scars include puck marks, board burns, red coloured paint transfers and pilling from rubbing up against Amiss' gloves are also present. Also displaying with a few small but worthy of mention fabric runs and a cut seam at the left cuff, larger unrepaired holes/fabric runs are found over the lower reverse and the numbers display with cracking/damage of varying degrees, with the worst of it found at the bottom of the "3" on the left sleeve. With pilling found on the interior, it is also worth pointing out that a white paint spot is observed at the right cuff and the white stripes appear dirty.
