Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
Playing three (3) seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Victoria Cougars, Daryl Coldwell would 186 points in 206 games played over that time, helping the Cougars to back-to-back Ed Chynoweth Cup Finals appearances in 1980 and 1981, hoisting it in the second of the two years and competing in the 1981 Memorial Cup. Offered here, we present this WHL Victoria Cougars jersey that is attributed to have been worn by Coldwell in circa 1980. A Gerry Cosby made durene knit offering, the company's recognizable label as well as a size "48" swatch are sewn to the inner collar. Decorated over the front with vinyl patch Cougars team crest that presents in good condition with no cracking or deterioration, the number "24" has been sewn to the sleeves and verso in single layer twill numerals that are either blue or white in colour. Exhibiting beautiful game-wear via stick marks, board burns, red coloured board paint transfers, slash marks/scuffs, sewn team repairs, fabric runs, sweat staining and unrepaired holes that are observed throughout the entirety of the garment, a loop style fight strap is utilized on the interior of the jersey, which also shows heavy pilling throughout the inside, especially near the elbows. A seldom seen offering from a bygone era of junior hockey, don't miss out on this one!
