A product of the Kitchener Rangers who broke into the league with the Boston Bruins after being selected by the B's 16th overall at the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft, Dwight Foster would play a total of 541 National Hockey League games over the course of his career, suiting up for contests with Boston in two different stints with the club as well as Colorado, New Jersey and Detroit. Helping Team Canada to a silver medal at the 1977 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships, offered here is this Detroit Red Wings jersey worn by Foster during his first season with the club in 1982-83. Made by Maska, both brand and East Side Sporting Goods labeling is affixed to the inner collar while the Maska logo has been embroidered into the reverse hem as well. Measuring out to roughly a size "50", the front of the red and white Ultrafil material garment is decorated with Detroit's famed winged-wheel team crest that features embroidered detailing throughout while the sleeves and verso have been accented with Foster's number "20" in single layer white or red unique cursive style twill numerals utilized only during the 1982-83 season. Sporting "Foster” arching across the upper reverse in matching material and featuring a custom garter style fight strap on the interior, the jersey exhibits excellent game-wear via stick marks throughout the entirety of the piece, team repairs over the reverse and both sleeve, small unrepaired holes throughout, board burns over the sleeves and verso and staining throughout as well while pilling is observed behind the left shoulder, in the the middle of the "0" on the reverse and on the interior at the right sleeve. Additionally, an image of Foster wearing the style of jersey being offered appears to show the small unrepaired hole under the "2" on the right sleeve but is not clear/high-resolution enough to call a photo-match.
