Inducted into to the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2011, Doug Gilmour would enjoy an NHL career that spanned 20 seasons with 7 different franchises. A Stanley Cup champion as a member of the Calgary Flames in 1989, up for grabs here is this St. Louis Blues jersey worn by Gilmour during his second National Hockey League season of 1984-85. A rare one-year style made of heavy mesh by Rawlings, a size "48" tag from the brand is affixed inside the left hip seam while a Rawlings logo has been screened over the reverse right hip. Decorated over the front with a tri-layer tackle twill Blues team crest that has "St. Louis" embroidered into it, "Blues" is spelt out in an arch above the logo in matching style as well while the sleeves and verso have been accented with Gilmour's number "9" in tri-layer tackle twill numerals. Displaying "Gilmour" spelt out in stacked dual layer yellow-over-white tackle twill letters across the affixed matching mesh nameplate at the top of the back, it is worth pointing out that evidence of a former nameplate that was once affixed is seen underneath the one that is currently applied with a couple of threads from the previous one also found on the interior. Exhibiting good game-wear, stick marks and board burns are observed over the front, reverse and both sleeves with the left one also sporting a small number of unrepaired holes as well. Showcasing a red board paint transfer near the left hip on the reverse just above the white stripe, a stitched team repair is seen in the yellow stripe of the lower front while a fabric backed repair is present over the lower reverse underneath the fight strap. With the white portions of the jersey now more of a grey colour, the interior shows good pilling at both elbows and underneath the customized fright straps two having been cut away. Displaying with some small spot stains throughout the piece, the jersey is photo-matched with an included image to the stick mark through the left side of the "9" on the reverse as well as to Gilmour's 1985-86 O-Pee-Chee and Topps cards which capture the loose blue thread in the team crest on which the loose white thread on the bottom of the "E" of "Blues" is also visible.
