Playing college hockey with the Providence College Friars in the NCAA and earning All-ECAC Hockey Second Team honours for the 1982-83 season, Paul Guay would also play for his native United States of America at the 1984 Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo. Drafted by the Minnesota North Stars 118th overall in 1981, offered here is this Los Angeles Kings jersey worn by Guay during the 1986-87 season. Made by CCM, a partially detached Maska Ultrafil label is affixed to the inner collar while a born on date tag reading "86 01" is found underneath. Void of any size designation but measuring out to roughly a size "48", the reverse hem has been accented with a CCM logo that has been embroidered into it. Decorated over the front with Los Angeles’ original crown crest that features embroidered details throughout, the franchise’s 20th season anniversary patch has been added over the left shoulder. Having had Guay's number “8” sewn to the sleeves and verso in dual layer purple-over-white tackle twill numerals, “Guay” is spelt out in single layer yellow twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate while the fight strap on the interior is still present and accounted for. Playing in a total of 35 games that season and registering a total of 2 goals and 7 points in total, the jersey displays wear in the form of stick marks over the lower front and both sleeves, blue coloured paint transfers at the front right hip, light sticks marks over the lower reverse, a team repair near the right cuff, pilling near both cuffs from rubbing against Paul's gloves, board burns over the front and right cuff and the odd slash mark with one over the lower front resulting in a couple of small unrealized holes as well. With pilling present at the elbows on the interior, Guay has signed the bottom of the reverse number with a thin black ink signature that displays well despite some minor bleeding.
