One of many new releases to emerge in the early -1930s, the Hamilton Chewing Gum company’s 1933-34 V288 hockey card set rings in with a checklist that includes a total of 21 cards and features some of the era’s key players. Offered here in complete set form, this assembly of the desirable release is paced by freshly graded PSA examples of HOFers Howie Morenz (PSA VG 3), King Clancy (PSA EX-MT 6), Aurel Joliat (PSA FR 1.5) and Charlie Conacher (RC – PSA VG 3). Made up entirely of yellow background variation offerings (other colours including blue, green and orange were also produced), the rest of the set, remaining in raw ungraded form, is paced by four (4) cards in the VG-EX condition range that includes the likes of Nick Wasnie, Andy Blair and HOFer Ace Bailey while being followed closely behind by a quintet of VG scope cards that feature the cardboard of Wildor Larochelle (x2), HOFer Red Horner, Pit Lepine and Larry Aurie. Moving along, cards seen as being in the range of GOOD make up the largest section of the set and include names such as HOFer Joe Primeau, HOFer Sylvia Mantha, HOFer Busher Jackson, Lorne Chabot, HOFer Hap Day and Alex Levinsky. Finishing out the set, cards viewed as FR condition offerings include the likes HOFer Marty Burke, Bill Thoms and Harold Cotton while examples seen as being “Authentic” include an additional card of HOFer Hap Day as well as the card of Ebbie Goodfellow.
