Laying claim to a career in professional baseball that spanned a total of fifty-five (55) years, “The Ol’ Perfesser”, Casey Stengel experienced everything possible during that timeframe, winning a total of nine World Series crowns in his career as both a player and a manager. Ending his playing career with a highly respectable .284 batting average, Stengel would see his greatest successes as manager of the New York Yankees from 1949 to 1960 and would be elected to the hallowed halls of the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY in 1966. famous for his humorous and sometimes disjointed way of speech while with the Yankees, offered here is this National Baseball Hall of Fame postcard that has been autographed by the HOF skipper. Displaying the image of his Hall of Fame plaque over the front, Stengel has signed the top part of the card with a bold black ink signature that displays well despite some lightness in areas definitely due to a faulty marker. Additionally, Stengel has signed the reverse side (something seen on many other examples of this post card) with a much crisper fine black ink signature that displays without issue. PSA/DNA Certified “Authentic”, the autographed relic is housed in a PSA holder that shows scratches and scuffs over both sides that are worth pointing out.
