Drafted 124th overall by Montreal in 1980, Mike McPhee would play 581 of his 744 National Hockey League games wearing the famed bleu, blanc et rouge of Les Canadiens, winning a Stanley Cup with them in 1986. A product of the RPI Engineers, offered here is this Montreal Canadiens jersey worn by McPhee during the 1990-91 season. Made by CCM with a fully washed-out label affixed to the inner collar, the jersey measures out to a size “52” and has both the CCM and NHL shield logos embroidered over the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with Montreal’s famed “CH” crest in layered tackle twill, the distinguished alternate captain’s “A”, worn by McPhee in both 1990-91 and 1991-92, is sewn over the left breast. The sleeves and verso have been decorated with McPhee’s number “35” in dual layer white-over-blue tackle twill numerals while the nameplate has been removed from the reverse. Showing game-wear via some light board burns over both sleeves, some small stick marks are found near the end of the left sleeve as well. With a couple of small unrepaired holes seen over the front and a small number of fabric snags throughout, pilling is found on the interior as well as evidence of numerous washings and salting to the fight strap.
