Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023

The only player able to hold a candle to Wayne Gretzky during the prime of their respective careers, Mario Lemieux overcame great amounts of adversity throughout his time in the NHL but still finished his time in the league with a total of 1723 points, six (6) Art Ross Trophy’s, three (3) Hart Memorial Trophy’s and two (2) Stanley Cups. Hailing from the 2005-06 season in which he skated alongside a rookie by the name of Sidney Crosby for his final 26 National Hockey League contests, offered here is this stick used by “Mario the Magnificent”. A CCM Vector model used by Mario only during that 26-game stint, “Lemieux” is stamped to the upper shaft in black and has bled over time while the handle/knob remains covered by Lemieux’s original black gripper. Decorated over the inserted wooden blade with black tape that shows a couple of tears on the forehand side, the stick exhibits game-use via marks/abrasions mostly viewed over the lower shaft, heel area and blade while various marks can also be made out over the blade tape as well. Possibly one of the last stick’s Mario ever used during his storied Hall of Fame career, this one is sure to please any Penguins/Lemieux enthusiast!
