Drafted 234th overall at the 1988 NHL Entry Draft by the Quebec Nordiques, Claude Lapointe would play a total of fourteen (14) years in the National Hockey League with teams such as Quebec, Colorado, Calgary, NY Islanders and Philiadelphia. Playign the first six years of his career with the team that drafted him, presented here is the Nordiques jersey worn by Lapointe during the 1991-92 season. Made by CCM and featuring both size “54” and Maska Ultrafil tags affixed to the inner collar, the CCM and NHL shield logos are found having been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Nordiques team crest in layered tackle twill, Fleur-de-lis have been added over both shoulders as well as the lower front and reverse in single layer blue twill. Displaying the NHL’s 75th anniversary patch over the right breast, Lapointe’s number “47” has been sewn to the sleeves and verso in dual layer blue-over-red tackle twill numerals while “Lapointe” is spelt out in single layer blue twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting heavy game-wear throughout the entirety of the piece, stick marks are present over the front, reverse and both sleeves which also show board burns as well. With additional wear via small fabric snags to the arms and body, coloured board paint transfer marks are observed over the right sleeve with good pilling at the elbows on the interior.
