Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
With the help of superstar Bobby Hull, the Chicago Black Hawks advanced to the Stanley Cup semifinals four times during the mid-to-late-1960s. We offer a 1967-68 Black Hawks gold base bobbing head doll. Much rarer than the earlier-produced dolls and measuring 7" in height with team decals over the chest and base, there is just one small hairline crack on the underside of the head, with the head itself slightly askew, to the left. The decals remain fully intact, with the doll displaying wonderfully overall. There is also a "Sports Specialties 10203 Santa Monica Blvd Los Angeles, Calif. 67" sticker to the underside. This lot and many others in this auction hail from an advanced NHL and CFL nodder/bobbing head collection.
Addendum: Upon closer inspection with a blacklight, there is a repair beneath his right ear, with colour added to the underside head.
