Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023

The father of HHOFer Ted Linday, Leslie “Bert” Lindsay played a total of 151 games of professional hockey between teams in the NHA, PCHA and NHL during his career with teams such as the Renfrew Creamery Kings, Victoria Aristocrats, Montreal Wanderers and Toronto Arenas. Up for grabs here, is this copy of Lindsay’s rookie card that was found as part of Imperial Tobacco’s 1911-12 C55 hockey set. Shown with his right hand over the knob of his stick on the front of the card, this particular copy of the 112-year-old cardboard has earned a very respectable mark of EX-MT 6 from the graders at PSA after their inspection. A pop-17 specimen, only thirteen (13) examples have ever graded higher out of 155 that have been submitted to PSA over the years. Showing good colours and corners that show relatively light wear considering the cards age, the images on both the front and reverse display off-center. A fabulous example that has been preserved in a PSA holder that shows some scratches/scuffs over both sides, don’t miss out on this important pre-war offering for your all-important vintage collection.
