Drafted 110th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in 2012, Andreas Athanasiou has played nearly 500 NHL games in his career up to this point, suiting up over that time for the Red Wings, Oilers, Kings and Blackhawks. Presented here, is this Los Angeles Kings jersey worn by Athanasiou during the team’s first round playoff series against the Edmonton Oilers in 2022. Made by Adidas, a band displaying both “Made in Canada” and size “56” designations are affixed to the inner collar above a heat pressed Kings team inventory barcode and a screened on “Primegreen” logo. Displaying emblems of both the NHL shield and Adidas over the front and reverse necklines respectively, the front of the jersey is decorated with a Kings team crest that features both textured and embroidered details while the sleeves and verso have had Athanasiou's number “22” sewn to them in dual layer tackle twill numerals. Showing “Athanasiou” spelt out in single layer white twill letters that have been sewn directly to the jersey itself, the garment, having been worn in only three games, shows just light game wear via a small number of board burns over the sleeves and lower front at the left side along with a very faint washed out stick mark near the bottom of the left sleeve’s white stripe. Having had a Kings team tag denoting the jersey as an “Official Game Jersey – 2021-22 Playoffs” offering sewn inside the reverse hem, a Kings authenticity QR code tag is looped around the fight strap as well with the piece accompanied by matching team COA’s. Additionally, the jersey is photo-matched with Getty Image #1240498148 (May 6th, 2022 vs Edmonton - WCQF Game 3) to the loose thread in the top portion of the top silver stripe of the left sleeve.
