Enjoying an NHL career of 16 years and 1025 games after being left undrafted, Donald Brashear would finish his career 15th in penalty minutes all-time and be named “Enforcer of the Decade” by The Hockey News in 2010. Up for grabs here, is this Philadelphia Flyers third jersey worn by Brashear during the 2005-06 campaign. Made by Reebok, a single size “58” tag is affixed to the inner collar while logo patches for Reebok and the NHL shield have been added over the reverse neckline and hem respectively. Decorated over the front with a metallic version of the Flyers’ familiar winged-P crest, the sleeves and verso of the bright orange garment have been accented with Brashear’s number “87” in tri-layer stacked tackle twill numerals with “Brashear” spelt out in matching style across the affixed matching nameplate. Customized with an additional skate lace fight strap on the jersey’s frontside interior, good game-wear is exhibited via stick marks to the lower front and left sleeve which also shows a couple of small board burns and a large unrepaired tear near the cuff while the front of the collar has been reinforced/repaired as well. Showing light pilling on the interior, a MeiGray patch numbered “C08304” is sewn inside the reverse hem and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “Third Set 1” specimen. Having been photo-matched with Getty Image #115475156 (December 22nd, 2005 vs Ottawa) to the stick mark near the top of the lower orange coloured portion of the left sleeve, a matching LOA will accompany the piece.
