The 194th overall pick by the Maple Leafs at the 2007 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Carl Gunnarsson would play 629 NHL games over the course of his career split between both Toronto and St. Louis, where he would win a Stanley Cup in 2019. Suiting up for his native Sweden on numerous occasions, winning three IIHF World Championship medals between 2009 and 2011, up for grabs here is this Maple Leafs jersey worn by Gunnarsson during the 2011-12 campaign. Sporting a lone size “56” tag affixed to the inner collar, the Reebok made blue and white garment displays the crests of both the NHL and Reebok over the front and back necklines respectively. Styled over the front with a familiar Leafs team crest with “Toronto Maple Leafs” embroidered into it with matching alternate logo patches residing over each shoulder, the Mats Sundin Night patch worn by the Leafs on February 11th, 2012 is sewn over the right breast. The sleeves and verso have been accented with Gunnarsson’s number “36” in single layer white twill numbers while “Gunnarsson” has been spelt out in matching style across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting light game-wear, stick marks are present through the team crest and lower front as well as near the elbows of both sleeves with board burns also present over both sleeves and the top of the nameplate on the reverse as well. Of note, some light staining and marks is observed over the reverse numbers. A Leafs team tag denoting the piece as a “2011-12 Official Game-Worn Jersey” is sewn inside the rear hem and is accompanied by a matching Leafs COA.
