Born in London, Ontario, Sam Gagner would make his Team Canada senior team debut at the 2008 IIHF World Championships that was hosted by Canada in the cities of Halifax and Quebec City. Playing in just one game, up for grabs here is this Team Canada jersey issued to Gagner for the best-on-best international tournament. A Nike made jersey with size “60” screened to the inner collar above an IIHF label, an additional IIHF 100th anniversary crest is sewn over the reverse hem. Styled with the classic Hockey Canada team crest with embroidered detailing, the polyester jersey has been accented with Gagner’s number “89” over the sleeves and verso in dual layer tackle twill numerals, with matching vintage style Team Canada crests over each sleeve along with matching Zepter International sponsorship patches. Showing a Nike Team Sports barcode on the interior, “Gagner” is spelt out in white twill letters that have been heat pressed onto the affixed matching nameplate while the jersey itself shows no obvious signs of game-use and remains in excellent condition having never been worn though does shows in numerous areas of red colour bleed throughout. A Hockey Canada LOA will accompany the piece, incorrectly stating the piece as being game worn (Team Canada wore red in Gagner’s only game played).
