This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/27/2023
A Phoenix Coyotes draft choice in 1996, goaltender Robert Esche played in both the OHL and AHL before making his NHL debut. The New York native also represented the US internationally at the IIHF World Championships, World Cup of Hockey and Winter Olympics. From his time with the OHL's Detroit/Plymouth franchise, we have a Whalers jersey worn by Esche circa 1995-98 (his first two seasons with the club in 1995-96 and 1996-97 were in Detroit, with the club transferring to Plymouth for the 1997-98 season, with the jerseys and logos not changing). Maska labeling along with a "58" size tag are affixed to the collar, with CCM and CHL crests to the reverse hem. Featuring a Whalers team crest with embroidered detailing, "31" is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with "Esche" across the nameplate in single white twill. Exhibiting marks to the lower front band, there is also a few scrapes and marks to the sleeves, with pilling to each interior cuff.
