Patrolling the Canadian blue line in 7 of the 8 games played against the mighty Soviets in the Canada-Russia Series of 1972, Guy Lapointe contributed a single assist, and earned 6 minutes in the penalty box. This vintage stick was used by the Habs’ HOF defenseman during the series, and was originally obtained from a member of the 1972 Team Canada equipment staff. A Victoriaville Special Edition model with red and white stickers around the shaft, “G Lapointe” is stamped to the shaft with "5". The original single white tape strand remains to the blade, with white over the knob. The stick exhibits light game-use with wear to the underside blade and a few marks to the shaft. Still recognized as the greatest international hockey tournament in history, Team Canada retained it's worldwide supremacy, defeating the powerful Soviets in the final game.
