Existing from from 1896 to 1967, the Toronto Maple Leafs baseball team played both Double-A and Triple-A ball, with the 1902, 1918, 1920, 1926, and 1960 teams recognized as being among the 100 greatest minor league teams of all time. Originating from the estate of Cecil Finkler, a Former International League Toronto Maple Leafs team executive, we offer a trio of 1950s Leafs team-signed balls. All Spalding International league models signed mostly in blue ballpoint, there is a ball signed by members of the 1953 club with 19 signatures including Burleigh Grimes (manager), Lew Morton, Kal Segrist, Hal Keller, Ed Stevens, Bob Addis and others. A ball signed by members of the 1954 squad with 11 signatures including Bobby Hogue, Ed Stevens, Ray Shore, Elston Howard, Mike Goliat, Connie Johnson, Ed Blake and others (some of the signatures exhibit bleeding). Lastly, there is a ball signed by members of the 1958 team with 19 signatures including Dixie Walker (manager), Rocky Nelson, Hy Cohen, Sam Jethroe, Archie Wilson, Pat Scantlebury and others. The majority of the signatures display nicely unless otherwise noted, with varying degrees of toning to the balls. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
