Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2023

Drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers 161st overall at the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Patrick Maroon has enjoyed a National Hockey League career that saw him win back-to-back-to-back Stanley Cup championships with St. Louis (2019) and Tampa Bay (2020 and 2021). Hailing from before he found his footing in the league, offered here is this Flyers jersey worn by Maroon during the 2009-10 pre-season. Made by Reebok with a single size “58” tag affixed to the inner collar, crests for both the NHL and Reebok adorn the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated over the front with Philly’s familiar winged-P crest that the franchise has used since their introduction into the league in 1967, the sleeves and verso have been accented with Maroon’s number “41” in dual layer tackle twill numerals while “Maroon” is spelt out in single layer black twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Worn only during that year’s pre-season, the jersey exhibits very light game-use through a couple of light stick marks over the left sleeve and right arm pit and a board burn on the right sleeve, while light staining is seen over the lower front and near the right elbow. Featuring a MeiGray tag numbered “G03183” is found inside the reverse hem and according to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “White Set 1 – Preseason Only” specimen. A Flyers LOA will accompany the piece.
