Contributing 34 points in 65 games during his rookie season of 1999-2000, Maxim Afinogenov would go on to play eight (8) more seasons with the team that drafted him 69th overall in 1997 and become a fan favourite in the City of Light. Presented here, is this Buffalo Sabres jersey worn by Afinogenov during his rookie season of 1999-2000. A Pro Player made garment with brand and size “54” labeling affixed to the inner collar along with the original Sabres team store tag, both the Pro Player logo and NHL shield have been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a Sabres team crest that features embroidered details, the NHL2000 patch has been added over the right breast while matching alternate logo crests reside over each shoulder. The sleeves and verso have had Afinogenov's number “61” sewn to them in tri-layer tackle twill numerals with “Afinogenov” spelt out across the affixed matching nameplate in dual-layer tackle twill letters. Exhibiting great game-wear, stick marks are observed over the front, reverse and sleeves with the sleeves also displaying numerous board burns and board paint transfers. A Sabres COA along with a MeiGray COR will accompany the piece. Additionally, the jersey is photo-matched with Getty Image #81446778 (Undated – 2000 NHL Season) and #496498 (December 4th, 1999 vs New York) to a number of the stick marks seen over both sleeves though it should be noted that some have been washed out or eliminated from the numerous washings the jersey went through.
