The world's oldest, most successful and most famous hockey team, the Montreal Canadiens 24 Stanley Cup championships will never be topped. The franchise can also claim some of the best players in history, including Howie Morenz, Rocket Richard and Guy Lafleur. This lot contains a collection of approx 35 Canadiens Montreal Forum programs ranging from the 1940s through the late-1960s, including two playoff specimens. There are four programs from the 1940s, seven from the 1950s and 25 from the 1960s including 15 from the late-1960s that are missing their original insert that featured the game's line-up and rosters. Most of the earlier programs have intact line-ups. Stars featured on covers include Beliveau, Harvey, Reardon, Lach, Laperriere, Howe, Worsley, Orr and others. The playoff programs include April 29, 1967 vs Leafs (Game 5 Stanley Cup finals, Toronto win 4-1. There is soiling throughout and rusting to the staples) and April 22, 1969 vs Boston (Game 5 Stanley Cup semifinals, won by Montreal 4-2) The majority of the programs show light to moderate handling wear, with a few showing heavier wear.
