This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/2/2023
Known as one of the, if not THE premier lacrosse player in Canada in the early-1900s, hockey HOFer Newsy Lalonde began his lacrosse career in Cornwall in 1904 and later set the scoring record for his Montreal team in 1910 with 31 goals. Celebrating both his hockey and lacrosse careers, we have a pair of Newsy Lalonde Day programs including one signed that hail from the Harry "Punch" Broadbent collection. At 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", with an elderly 68-year-old Lalonde pictured on the cover, the programs are simple fold-over affairs, with the date of "May 13, 1955 on the cover, and a biography with event schedule to the interior. Newsy has autographed one on the cover in ballpoint with "Best Wishes Leda", signed with just "Newsy" and "1955". Both programs show light wear with a center fold and minor creasing. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
