Established in 1909, the Montreal Canadiens have established themselves as one of the top franchises in all of sport over the course of their history, winning a total of 24 Stanley Cup’s along the way. Up for grabs here, is this collection of vintage Montreal Canadiens cards totalling eleven (11) that date between 1957-58 to 1968-69. Highlighted by a myriad of slabbed offerings, the group is led by a quarter of Parkhurst rookie cards of Charlie Hodge (1957-58 – NM 7), J.C. Tremblay (1962-63 – EX-MT 6), Gilles Tremblay (1962-63 – NM 7) and Jacques Laperriere (1963-64 – NM 7) while four other graded offerings include a 1965-66 Topps #126 Canadiens team card (KSA NMM+ 8.5), a 1959-60 Parkhurst #47 Frank Selke (KSA NM 7), a 1960-61 Parkhurst #59 Geoffrion/Beliveau/Marshall (PSA NM 7) and a 1966-67 Topps #65 Vezina Trophy Hodge/Worsley (PSA EX-MT 6). All of the holders remain in good condition with just some light scratches over both sides of each slab worth noting. Raw ungraded cards totalling three (3) round out the rest of the collection with a 1959-60 Parkhurst #35 of Bernie “Boom Boom” Geoffrion being the oldest of the trio and falling into a condition range of G to VG due to a large crease, some corner wear and light toning throughout. Another copy of J.C. Tremblay’s 1962-63 first year cardboard is included, this time in the grade vicinity of EX to EX-MT with some light toning and corner wear as well as a top-to-bottom centering issue on the front while Rogie Vachon’s 1968-69 O-Pee-Chee second year card concludes the collection, this one being in the range of VG condition due to a small crease and corner wear.
It must be noted that the grading standards followed by KSA may not correspond to those currently employed by PSA, BGS or SGC. The outcome of an attempted cross-over of this piece through any of those services, then, would be uncertain and cannot be guaranteed.
