French Canada’s prodigal son throughout his entire playing career and life after hockey, Maurice Richard still holds a sacred place amongst French Canadiens even 23 years after his passing as of this writing. Offered here, is this collection of three (3) cards of deceased HOFer Maurice Richard. Led by a 1960-61 Parkhurst card of “The Rocket” that has earned a mark of ENM 6 by KSA, the card displays with light corner wear and moderate toning but retains good colours and centering over both sides while the KSA holder shows just light scratches worth noting. The last two cards, both found in raw ungraded form, hail from Parkhurst’s third and fourth ever hockey releases, 1953-54 and 1954-55 respectively. Card #30 in the 1953-54 set picturing Richard over the being congratulated by Elmer Lach while holding his 325th goal puck, the card presents in the condition vicinity of VG, showing light corner wear and a gum stain on the reverse but presenting with good colour and admirable centering. The last card, “Rocket’s” 1954-55 card, displaying a background that gives a nod to his selection to the Second All-Star team a year prior, the card has a light but long crease near the top that runs the width of the cardboard that puts in the scope of G (good) condition.
It must be noted that the grading standards followed by KSA may not correspond to those currently employed by PSA, BGS or SGC. The outcome of an attempted cross-over of this piece through any of those services, then, would be uncertain and cannot be guaranteed.
