Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023

What a start to a big-league career it was for big Ken Dryden, the former Cornell star winning his six first regular season NHL starts down the stretch in 1970-71 and then helping the Canadiens to pull off a highly unlikely upset of the record-setting Bruins in the first round of the playoffs....and then backstopping the Habs to series wins over the North Stars and Black Hawks and the Stanley Cup! Playing in a record 20 playoff tilts, Dryden earned the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP. Still as mesmerizing as what it was when it was first pulled from a 10-cent pack of O-Pee-Chee hockey cards during Dryden’s official NHL season despite displaying off-center from right-to-left over the front and left-to-right on the reverse, this copy of Ken’s first-year cardboard has earned a mark of NM/MT 8 from SGC. Sporting good colours, smooth edges, sharp corners and clean surfaces while being housed in a SGC holder that shows light scratches and scuffs over both sides, we’re sure our lucky winning bidder will be pleased with adding this one to their collection.
