After defeating the Kenora Thistles 15-12 on aggregate in a three game series, the Owen Sound Greys, led by HOFer Cooney Weiland, then met the Calgary Canadians in the 1924 Memorial Cup final. Winning the first game of the series 5-3, the second game ended in a tie, with the Greys crowned Junior champions of Canada in a two-game, 7-5 aggregate victory. This framed cabinet photo features the 1923-24 Greys. At 12" x 13 1/2", with team colours to the upper right corner, the full team is shown in a studio setting including Weiland, along with the J. Ross Robertson and Memorial Cups. Each player is listed beneath on the mount, with the photographer over the bottom right. With no condition issues visible other than some minor silvering to the image, the photo is set in a period frame to full dimensions of 13 1/2" x 16" (there is some wear to the frame).
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for damage to frames that occurs during shipping.
