A standout with the Motor City Red Wings beginning after the Great Depression and continuing throughout the war years, Carl Liscombe was instrumental in Detroit capturing their third Stanley Cup championship in 1943, with his 14 post-season points tying a then-current record. Liscombe would go on to lead the AHL’s Providence Reds to the Calder Cup in 1949 after his NHL playing days, with the Perth native featured in his Reds uniform on this rarely-seen and aesthetically pleasing CCM die cut advertising display that originates from the late-1940s. At approx 11 ½” x 20" at the widest points and with an intact easel backing, Liscombe is depicted in black and white, with text beneath including CCM’s tag line, “The Joy of Amateurs… The Pride of Professionals”. The easel is intact, with wear including creasing and a pair of pinholes.
