Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023

Still believing in his abilities despite the Buffalo Sabres management recommending the star retire after a concussion occurred during the 1996-97 NHL season, Pat LaFontaine was traded to the New York Rangers in September of 1997, and scored his 1,000th career point with the Blueshirts before hanging-up his skates at the conclusion of the 1997-98 season. From that final campaign, we have a signed stick used by the HOFer in 1997-98 that was originally obtained by Dino Ciccarelli for his father who is now deceased. A Louisville Fibre Force model with “Lafontaine” stamped to the upper shaft, the stick retains the original white tape over the knob and black tape to the blade. Exhibiting nice game-use with wear to the taped section of blade including along the underside and top edge, there are also a few marks along with residue and red paint transfer to the upper shaft. LaFontaine has signed just above the heel in black marker, with the signature thick and bold. Hailing from the Dino Ciccarelli personal collection, a signed LOA from Dino Ciccarelli will accompany.
