A wonderful grouping of ten (10) pre-war offerings from both the tobacco plus candy and gum categories that display key players from both of Canada’s national sports, up for grabs here is this grouping of five (5) 1924-25 Maple Crispette V130 hockey cards that includes HOFers Georges Vezina and Newsy Lalonde as well as five (5) 1910-11 Imperial Tobacco lacrosse cards that also includes an example of HOFer Lalonde. For the hockey offerings, card #11 of Billy Boucher is the best of the bunch condition wise, falling in the range of VG to VG-EX though is noticeably shorter than the others and is completely off-center. The card of Newsy Lalonde is found to be the condition vicinity of G to VG with light corner wear and a faint crease while the cards of Vezina and Hamilton are in the scope of FR to G with rounded corners and multiple light creases on each. Lastly for the hockey cards, the cardboard of Fred Lowry (RC) is seen as FR, sporting round corners plus edge wear and multiple heavy creases.
For the lacrosse cards, those of 12-McIntyre (round corners and creases), 96-Gagon (round corners and creases) and of course 100-Lalonde (small stain and round corners) pace the group condtion wise with all three around the proximity of FR to G. For the last two, 76-Quarrie is seen as PR to FR with round corners and a long heavy crease while 89-Clement is PR with a torn sticker at some point having been applied over the front.
