Celebrating two of the greatest to ever suit up for the New York Rangers, we offer this jersey worn by then Rangers captain, Chris Drury, during the warm-up and pre-game ceremony on February 22nd, 2009, when the Rangers retired the numbers of Andy Bathgate and Harry Howell to the rafters of Madison Square Garden. Made by Reebok, a size “54” flag tag is affixed to the inner collar, showing the number “23” handwritten in black ink, while crests for Reebok and the NHL decorate the reverse neck line and hem respectively. The neck of the vintage style tie-neck garment is decorated with the familiar “Rangers” diagonally down the chest in red-over-white drop-shadow tackle twill along with the number “9” worn by Bathgate in matching drop-shadow style over the left breast in place of the captain’s “C”. A Bathgate/Howell retirement night patch resides over the right shoulder. The sleeves and verso sport Drury’s number “23” in matching style with “Drury” sewn directly to the top of the reverse. Worn only during the warm-up and pre-game ceremony, the jersey remains in beautiful condition with no obvious signs of wear. Additionally, Drury has signed the reverse number “2” with a black ink signature that displays without issue. A MeiGray patch numbered “F01849” is sewn inside the reverse hem with the company’s population report listing the jersey as a “Blue – Andy Bathgate/Harry Howell Night (Warm Up)” specimen. The jersey is accompanied by both Rangers and Madison Square Garden COA’s.
