Done in tribute for former New York City police officer, Steven McDonald, the namesake of the “Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award” that is awarded annually to the Ranger who "goes above and beyond the call of duty”, who was shot and injured in the line of duty on July 12, 1986 and eventually passed away on January 10th, 2017, offered here is specially designed tribute warm-up jersey worn by Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh on January 13th, 2017. Made by Reebok with a Rangers team inventory barcode and size “58+” label affixed to the inner collar with McDonagh’s “27” handwritten, the crests for the NHL and Reebok adorn the front and back necklines respectively. Decorated over the front with a partially embroidered Rangers shield crest and an additional Reebok crest, the captain’s “C” is heat pressed over the right breast with McDonagh’s “27” and name done in matching style over the sleeves and upper reverse. Sporting NYPD police badge patches stitched over each shoulder, the back exhibits the number “104”, McDonald’s former badge number with McDonagh having signed the number “1” with a black ink signature that displays without issue. Worn only in the pre-game warm-up, the jersey shows no obvious wear and remains in excellent condition. Steiner holograms are affixed to the size tag at the inner collar as well as below the autograph and are accompanied by a matching LOA.
