A veteran of 13 National Hockey League seasons who was selected 127th overall by the New York Rangers in 2004, Ryan Callahan would play eight seasons in the Big Apple and serve as captain from the start of the 2011-12 season until his trade to Tampa in March 2014. Offered here, is this New York Rangers jersey worn by Callahan during the 2008-09 season. Made by Reebok and sporting a single size “56” label affixed to the inner collar that has Callahan’s number “24” handwritten in blue ink, NHL and Reebok crests reside over the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with “Rangers” placed diagonally across the chest of the tie-neck garment in red-over-white drop-shadow tackle twill, the sleeves and verso have been accented with Callahan’s number “24” in matching style with “Callahan” arched across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting excellent game-wear, a total of seven (7) team repairs are seen over the sleeves with all but one found over the right while board burns are observed over both sleeves and shoulders as well. A small unrepaired hole is seen near the lower reverse hem and good pilling is found on the interior at both the elbows and hems. Of note, dark marks/dust stains are seen over the lower front and are not associated with game-use. Additionally, the jersey is photo-matched with Getty Image #85185062 (February 28th, 2009 vs Colorado) to the team repairs on the right shoulder and elbow area as well as to board burns over both shoulders. A MeiGray patch numbered “F09392” is sewn inside the rear hem with the company’s population report listing the jersey as a “Blue Set 2” specimen. The jersey is accompanied by a matching LOA.
