Selected by San Jose in 1995, goaltender Vesa Toskala first played numerous seasons in his native Finland with Ilves before making his NHL debut with the Sharks in 2001-02. From his final NHL season where he saw action in 6 games with Calgary, we have a Flames "Vintage" jersey worn by Toskala as back-up in the March 11, 2010 match vs Ottawa. These vintage jerseys were worn by the Flames on Oct 1st, Oct 6th, Jan 2nd, Jan 30th, and March 11th. “Goalie Style” and size labeling (58) is affixed to the collar with "35" handwritten, with NHL and Reebok crests gracing the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with the traditional Flames team crest administered in layered red, gold and black tackle twill, “35” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with the Flames 30th anniversary crest over the right breast. The fight strap has also been cut away. Worn as a back-up, the jersey shows no game-use and remains in gorgeous condition. A MeiGray patch numbered "G01693" is affixed to the inside hem, and according to the company's population report, the jersey is a "Red Vintage Set 1" specimen with "Backed Up 3/11/10". An LOA from the Flames will accompany.
