Enjoying the first nine years of his National Hockey League career with the Edmonton Oilers from 1979-80 to 1987-88, Wayne Gretzky would become the game’s most dominant player over that time, leading the Oilers to four Stanley Cups and winning countless individual awards. Offered here, is this Oilers captain’s jersey that has been signed by “The Great One”. A CCM made garment measuring out to a size “54” with Center Ice and brand labeling affixed to the inner collar, the jersey remains in new-with-tags condition. Decorated over the front with an Oilers team crest in layered tackle twill with the captain’s “C” over the left breast, the sleeves and verso have been accented with Gretzky’s “99” in tri-layer tackle twill numerals with “Gretzky” spelt out in single layer blue twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Featuring pro on-ice elements including a fight strap on the interior and reinforced elbows, double CCM and NHL shield logos have been embroidered over the reverse hem. A commemorative “The Great One” patch is affixed over the right breast while Gretzky has signed the front crest with a bold black ink signature that displays without issue. Showing just a couple tiny faint marks and serial numbered “191/499” opposite the autograph in matching blue ink, a UD hologram numbered “BAE40682” is affixed at the bottom of the crest and is accompanied by a matching UDA COA.
