Sure to keep the winner occupied for hours on end, offered here is this publications and guide book collection of 24 featuring baseball, basketball and other sports that dates between the 1930s and 1950s. The group is headlined by a trio of New York Knicks programs from the 1956-57 season, from games against the Syracuse Nationals, St. Louis Hawks and the Boston Celtics. All three remain complete with the center line-up page affixed with all three having the original ticket stubs taped inside the front covers. The programs all remain in good condition with light surface wear and creases present and no rusting of the staples. Baseball based literature found includes an issue of “Baseball Magazine” from February 1931 with Hack Wilson on the cover that shows wear to the spine and both covers via tears as well as some surface wear and creasing. Other baseball based items include Spalding’s “How To” guide book of baseball from 1931 and Official Baseball guides by Leslie M. O’Connor from 1945 and 1946 with all three in good condition. Other items include Spalding guides titled; “285 Health Answers” (1927 – expected handling wear and creasing to the covers along with a pencil mark on the front )“Track and Field Athletics for Girls” (1928 – wear to the spine and covers), “Official Field Hockey Guide” (1928 – cover detached with heavy spine wear), “Swimming for Women” (1931 -surface wear and moisture damage to covers), “Lessons in Tennis” (1933 – light wear) and “How to Build A Tennis Court” (1933 – moderate wear to the spine with surface wear to the covers as well as creasing). The last group of guides includes basketball examples from 1933-34, 1944-45 and 1951-52 (x2) as well as volleyball from 1933 and Olympic Records from 1934. A single issue of “1957 World’s Championship Tennis”, in good condition, is also included. Rounding out this large collection, is a roller skating book produced by Chicago Roller Skates, a bowling how-to guide from Elonite, a lawn tennis pocket book from Murray and Company and a Spalding sporting goods price book from 1934. The items come in a variety of conditions with most still good despite their age unless outlined.
