Enlisting in the Royal Canadian Navy at just 19, John McCormack played on a number of championship teams, winning the Memorial and Allan Cups along with a pair of Stanley Cups. The Edmonton native would see NHL action with the Leafs for parts of four seasons (1947-51), the Canadiens for parts of three seasons (1951-54) and the Black Hawks for just a single season. From his second campaign with les Canadiens, we have a team-signed stick used by McCormack during the Stanley Cup championship season of 1952-53. A CCM Pattern Made model, supplier Raymond Hardware stamps are found on each side of the shaft, with "17" stamped beneath the knob. The original black tape remains in place over the blade and handle, with the stick exhibiting heavy game-use with marks to the shaft including a few chips, with some additional wear to the taped section of blade. There is also red paint transfer to the upper shaft, with a crack beneath the blade tape. 17 total have signed on both sides of the shaft, including McCormack, along with The Rocket, Meger, Mosdell, Bouchard, Curry, Johnson, Olmstead, Harvey, Reay, Lach, Geoffrion, St Laurent, Masnick and a few others.
