Despite finishing in third place behind Chicago and Montreal, the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Canadiens in the postseason and met the Detroit Red Wings in the 1964 Stanley Cup final. The series would go the full seven games, with the Leafs shutting-out Howe and the Red Wings in Game 7. This stick has been team-signed by the 1963-64 Stanley Cup champion Maple Leafs. A Hespeler practice model, 25 signatures have been placed on one side of the shaft in ballpoint, with many light or faded, and a number of players signing twice. Signers include Tim Horton (dark, with no issues), Don Simmons (2), Carl Brewer, Billy Harris, Larry Hillman (2), Bob Nevin (2), Dick Duff, Eddie Shack (2), Allan Stanley, Ron Stewart, Dave Keon, Jim Pappin, Frank Mahovlich, Don McKenney, Andy Bathgate and a few others. The stick itself has been shellacked and was never used and shows just light wear.
