Drafted 135th overall by the Minnesota Wild in 2015, Kirill Kaprizov made his NHL debut at the beginning of the COVID-19 shortened 2020-21 season and proceeded to set Wild franchise records for goals and points by a rookie, with 27 goals and 51 points. Awarded the Calder Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year, becoming the first player in Wild franchise history to receive the honor. He received 99 out of 100 first place votes, the highest percentage since Teemu Selänne in 1993. This particular puck was used by Kaprizov to score his 18th goal of the season and of his career. Shot into the twine at 9:19 of the first period to open the scoring with assists provided by Nick Bonino and Kevin Fiala, the goal would be the first of five by Minnesota as they would take the contest over the Yotes by a score of 5-2. he “Official Game Puck” sports a Coyotes logo on the obverse with the NHL shield featured on the opposite side. Tape has been added along the side that has “April 19, 2021 – AZ-Minn 1st Period – Minn Goal #97 @ 09:19” handwritten in black ink. Showing light surface wear and scuffs over both sides, the puck is housed in an “Official Game-Used Puck” holder from the Coyotes.
