Recently inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2022, Roberto Luongo would finish his career with 1044 games played and 489 wins, putting him 4th all-time for wins as of this writing. Hailing from the 2008-09 season in which he posted 33 wins in 54 games played as well as a .920 save percentage, we offer this jersey worn by Luongo during the regular season plus the Stanley Cup Playoffs and it’s been photo-matched! Made by Reebok with “Goalie Style” and size “58+” labels affixed to the inner collar, crests for the NHL and Reebok are featured over the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with a layered tackle twill team crest that has embroidered details, “Vancouver” is spelt out above, arching in single layer blue twill letters. The sleeves and verso have been accented with Roberto’s number “1” in single layer blue twill while “Luongo” is spelt across the affixed matching nameplate in matching style. Canucks alternate logo patches reside over each shoulder. Riddled with game-use, numerous puck marks are observed over the sleeves and body along with stick marks seen over the sleeves and areas of red post paint transfer near the left cuff and right armpit. A team repair is found at the right armpit while unrepaired holes are seen in the green stripe of the right sleeve, at the left armpit and over the front, with three being present. The interior of the jersey shows a “1” handwritten on the fight strap as well as a MeiGray patch numbered “F09780” having been affixed and according to their population report, the jersey is a “White Set 3 / Playoffs” specimen.
Regarding the aforementioned photo-matches, Getty Image #88083017 (May 11th, 2009 vs Chicago – Western Conference Semi-Finals Game 6) is matched to numerous puck marks over the sleeves and body while Getty Image #86574929 (May 7th, 2009 vs Chicago – Western Conference Semi-Finals Game 4) is matched to numerous marks over both sleeves and front as well as the unrepaired hole at the right edge of Canucks team crest. A matching Canucks LOA will accompany the piece.
